Try paint colors on a photo of your house or your room
Take or choose a photo, tap a wall and try colors on it. Add trim, door and shutters, mark what should stay as it is (windows, brick, the roof), and save the picture with a color card to take to the paint store. No photo yet? Start with the sample house or the sample room in the app.
Free for 7 days, then one optional payment
Recoat is free for 7 days with everything included, and no card is needed to try it. After that, one optional one-time purchase through Google Play keeps Recoat for life ($5.99 in the US; Google Play shows the price in your country). No subscription, no ads, no automatic charge. The payment is processed by Google Play, and RevenueCat processes the purchase. No account is needed.
If you don't buy it, nothing is deleted: you can always save your project images, export your color list and back up everything, for free.
Does it sync?
No, on purpose. Your photos and projects stay on this phone. Use Settings → Back up everything to move them to a new phone, then Settings → Restore from backup there.
How do I stop it from painting my windows or door?
Add Keep as is and tap or draw over them. Smart tap never paints there.
It painted too much (or too little). What do I do?
Tap Undo, lower (or raise) Edge sensitivity and tap again. For the last details use lasso, polygon, brush or eraser. If a spot already belongs to another surface, Recoat tells you and offers to paint it as the surface you're working on.
Are these real paint brand colors?
No. Recoat shows any color you pick by hex code. It is not matched to any paint brand. Always test a real sample. In My colors you can write the name or code from your paint sample.
Why does my wall look different from the sample?
Screens, cameras and light change colors. Use the photo only to compare ideas.
What is LRV?
Light reflectance value: how much light a color reflects, from 0 (black) to 100 (white). Recoat estimates it from the screen color; paint makers measure it on real paint.
Where are my saved images?
In the folder you picked the first time you tapped Save to phone. If you picked Pictures, they also show up in your gallery. You can change the folder on the Save & share screen.
What happens after the 7 days?
If you don't buy Recoat, it opens on the unlock screen. Your projects stay on your phone, untouched, and from that screen you can still save the image of any project, export your color list or back up everything, free. Tap Unlock forever to buy it once and keep using it.
I bought Recoat. How do I get it on a new phone?
Settings → Your plan → Restore purchase, with the same Google account you used to buy it. You are not charged twice. To bring your projects too, use Settings → Back up everything on the old phone and Settings → Restore from backup on the new one.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Delete all my data. It removes every project, photo and saved color from this phone. See the Privacy Policy for full steps.
