The short version: everything you enter — jobs, findings, photos, templates and reports — stays on your phone. We have no account system and no server of our own, so we never see or receive it.
Your inspection data: nothing. Inspector Owl has no accounts, no login, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no tracking of any kind. There is currently no purchase to make in the app — it is free while in early access — so no purchase or payment data is collected either.
Every job, section, finding, photo, custom template and defect you add is stored locally on your device, in the app's own on-device database. It never leaves your phone unless YOU choose to export a JSON backup or share a generated PDF report yourself — the same as sharing any other file from your phone.
If you attach a photo to a finding, Inspector Owl asks for camera or photo library permission to do that one thing. The photo is stored locally with your inspection record; it is never uploaded to us and never seen by anyone unless you include it when you share your own report.
You can dictate a finding using the microphone button on your own keyboard (for example Gboard). The speech-to-text is performed by your keyboard app under its own permissions and policy — Inspector Owl never records audio, never receives audio, and matches the resulting text against its built-in defect library entirely on your device.
The app shows a disabled preview chip — "AI polish" — for a feature we are building next. It is not active: tapping it does not send any text anywhere or collect any data today.
Your entries are never sent to anyone. The app bundles the RevenueCat purchase SDK for a future paid plan, but no RevenueCat project is connected yet (billing is fully off) — no purchase or device data is sent to RevenueCat while that remains the case. This page will be updated, and the in-app and app-store data disclosures corrected, before any purchase option is turned on.
Data collected: none. Data shared with third parties: none. Everything you enter is stored only on your device.
Because your content lives only on your device, you are always in control de it. Export a full copy any time from Settings → "Export everything (JSON)", or erase everything at once with "Delete ALL my data" — or simply uninstall the app.
Inspector Owl is a professional tool for home inspectors and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If a future update adds a purchase option, optional cloud backup, or any new data flow, we will update this page and the app store data disclosures before that feature ships.
