CustodyTexts — Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 21, 2026

The short version: your recording, your messages and your PDFs never leave your phone. The only data that exists outside it is the anonymous receipt of your one-time purchase.

CustodyTexts is made by TechInnova Solutions LLC. This page explains, in plain words, what the app does with your data. It applies to the iPhone and Android versions of CustodyTexts (package com.techinnova.custodytexts).

What the app does

You record your own screen while you scroll a chat (iMessage, SMS, WhatsApp, Google Messages, Instagram or another chat app), or you choose a WhatsApp "Export Chat" file. CustodyTexts reads that recording on your phone, using the text reader built into your device (Apple's Vision on iPhone; Google's ML Kit text recognition, bundled inside the app, on Android). It then builds a page-numbered PDF with the original screen image next to every message.

What we collect

Your recording, your messages, your PDFs: nothing. CustodyTexts has no accounts, no server of its own, no analytics, no ads and no tracking of any kind. There is no network call that carries text or images from your phone. If you buy the one-time unlock, the purchase itself is processed by Apple or Google and validated by RevenueCat (see "Third parties" below).

Where your data lives

Uninstalling the app removes everything listed above from your phone. Android backups are turned off for this app (allowBackup=false), so none of it goes to a cloud backup either.

Permissions

No photo library permission. The app opens your phone's own picker, which hands over only the video you tap. On Android the app blocks the media, camera and microphone permissions in its manifest.
No camera, no microphone, no contacts, no location.
Internet is used only to ask the store for the price and to complete or restore the purchase.
The app does not record the screen itself. You record with the screen recorder built into your phone and choose the file afterwards.

Third parties

Your recording, messages and PDFs are never sent to anyone. The app includes one third-party SDK, RevenueCat, used only to validate the one-time purchase and to restore it on another phone. It receives the purchase receipt from Apple or Google, an anonymous app user ID generated on your device and a device identifier. This is not linked to your name or email, is never used for advertising, and is never sold. RevenueCat's own policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Payment itself is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). CustodyTexts never sees your card or bank details.

The optional "Attach to CustodyBook" button hands the PDF to the CustodyBook app on the same phone, if it is installed. Nothing travels over the internet.

Store privacy labels

App Store: "Data Not Linked to You" — Purchase History and Identifiers (anonymous user ID, device ID), used only for app functionality. Everything else: not collected. No tracking.
Google Play Data safety: Purchase history and Device or other IDs — collected, not shared, for app functionality, encrypted in transit. Messages, photos and videos, files and docs, personal info, location, contacts, app activity, diagnostics: not collected. The chat content is processed on the device only and is never transmitted.

Children

CustodyTexts is for adults dealing with a legal, family or workplace matter. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. A child's name that appears in your chat stays on your phone like everything else, and the app lets you cover it before exporting.

Your rights and choices

Delete everything on the phone: Settings ▸ "Delete all data in this app", or uninstall the app.
Delete the anonymous purchase record: email cmorehollman@gmail.com from the phone with the app installed and we will remove the RevenueCat record. Note that this also removes the ability to restore the purchase on another phone.
Access or export: everything you created is already on your phone as PDFs and fingerprint files; there is nothing on our side to request.
Residents of California, the EU/EEA, the UK and other regions with privacy laws have rights to access, correct and delete personal data. Because we hold none, those requests are fulfilled by the steps above.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts collecting something new, this page will change first, the effective date at the top will move, and the app update notes will say so. We will not quietly add analytics or tracking.
